Monaco
We were only there for 3 hours and it was raining (or should I say storming) the whole time. It got pretty bad. And the place was SO FREAKING RITZY it just made us ill. It was like a country club, but an entire country of a country club. Instead of 7-11's and Albertsons they had Louis Vuitton and Balenciaga stores.
Here's a view of the famous casino from one of the many fountains out front.
Here be the casino. She's grand.
A view of the harbor. Those boats may not look very big, but the small ones are as big as the biggest yachts you've ever seen. The big ones are like cruise ships. Trust me.
Here is a picture of the city. The one really cool aspect of this place was how it is set on these rocky bluffs. I bet these jerks have great views from their wonderful apartments. Bitter much?
So, now for an update.
Still working on the job hunt. I had an interview on Monday with the HR Department at PCC's Cascade Campus. The good: It pays $5 more an hour than my last job, it comes with benefits and like 33 paid days off per year, free PCC tuition, discounts on PSU tuition, the hours are good and it would be easy work. The bad: It's waaaaay in North Portland. I'd have to take at least 2 buses to get there and it takes a LONG time. Also, the buses don't time up well, so I'll be waiting at a bus stop for half an hour each way. I was gone for 3 hours on Monday, 1/2 hour of which was AT the interview. We'll see....
I've been trying to get a job as a vet receptionist. I REALLY want to wear scrubs to work everyday. And sneakers. It would be so comfy! And I'd get to work with animals! And I'd get discounts on my own pets' stuff!
The apartment is all decorated! Our tree has red, white, and green strands of lights. I like it. The cats have been annoying since the tree was put up, but not too terrible. They're both watching X Files with me right now. And I mean that literally. They're both sitting next to each other on the couch watching Scully talk to Skinner as if they have ANY clue what is going on. Their heads move left to right in sync whenever stuff moves. It's pretty damn cute. Dexter especially likes the X Files. And The Office. He's got good taste.
Well, that's about it. There's only 13 more days until Christmas, and I best be getting ready.
